Where Art and Airflow Meet
Handcrafted glass pieces from local artist Ryley Rasmussen now available at Sweet Grass Dispensary.
Sweet Grass Dispensary is proud to announce a new partnership with local glass artist Ryley Rasmussen, founder of Three Trees Glass, bringing custom, handcrafted glass pieces to customers at both the Seneca Falls and Union Springs locations.
Shoppers can now find a selection of one-of-a-kind hand pipes, bowls, and specialty glass pieces that celebrate artistry, function, and local craftsmanship.
A Partnership Rooted in Craft and Community
For Sweet Grass, this collaboration represents more than just adding a new product line, it’s about highlighting local talent and giving customers something they can’t find anywhere else.
“Sweet Grass has always been about authenticity, from our products to our people,” said General Manager LeRoy Halftown. “Partnering with a skilled local artist like Ryley allows us to offer something that’s truly handmade, locally rooted, and infused with personality. Every piece tells a story, and our customers appreciate that.”
Ryley, who started glassblowing seven years ago under the guidance of his father (a 30-year veteran of the craft) has steadily evolved from production glass into complex scientific and artistic glasswork, including custom percolators and “heady” one-off pieces that collectors love. His artistry combines traditional techniques with modern designs, resulting in glass that’s as functional as it is visually striking.
“My goal is always to make something people are proud to own, something they’ll show off to friends,” said Rasmussen. “I work with high-quality borosilicate glass from a variety of companies throughout the U.S and parts of Europe. The raw materials available in borosilicate have drastically increased in variety and quality since my dad began in the 90s. When using high-quality and durable materials, it not only gives a clean look and feel but also gives your piece a better chance of survival when leaping from your lap or coffee table."
Why Custom Glass Matters
Unlike mass-produced glass that’s often imported and inconsistent in quality, Three Trees Glass pieces are crafted locally and built to last. Each pipe, bowl, or chillum is flame-worked by hand, ensuring strong seals, smooth airflow, and precision-balanced carb holes for an elevated experience.
Ryley’s work stands out for its functionality as much as its look. He spends time refining airflow and chamber design to maximize performance. “Good glass should feel effortless,” he explained. “It should draw clean, hit evenly, and last for years.”
Customers will find a variety of designs that range from minimalist styles to eye-catching themed pieces, including sports team logos, character-inspired work, and classic patterns like wrap and rake and reversal balls. For collectors and cannabis enthusiasts alike, these are not just smoking accessories, they are personal art pieces.
Sweet Grass Dispensary plans to build on this collaboration by exploring Sweet Grass Dispensary-branded custom glass and limited-edition runs tied to local sports teams and seasonal promotions. Custom orders can typically be completed in one to one-and-a-half weeks, making them an ideal gift option for holidays and special occasions.
Supporting Local, One Piece at a Time
Beyond the art itself, this partnership represents Sweet Grass Dispensary’s broader commitment to supporting local makers and creators in the Finger Lakes region. As older glassblowers retire and demand for high-quality, handmade glass grows, partnerships like this one help keep the tradition alive, while giving customers access to the best craftsmanship available.
“There’s a huge difference between picking up a piece that came off an assembly line versus one that was made by someone you can meet in person,” said Rasmussen. “When customers learn about the process and the materials, they start to understand the value, and that builds real loyalty.”
Sweet Grass Dispensary hopes that introducing local artisan glass into their stores will not only boost product diversity but also help educate customers about quality differences and the artistry behind the craft.
“Customers are asking for more local, more handmade, and more personal products,” added LeRoy. “Ryley’s pieces check every box; they’re beautiful, functional, and each one has a story.”
Coming Soon to Seneca Falls and Union Springs
The first collection of Three Trees Glass pieces, including unique designs like Buffalo Bills-themed pipes and intricate internal glasswork, is already available in limited quantities at Sweet Grass Dispensary’s Seneca Falls and Union Springs locations. More designs and custom-order options will be rolling out later this fall.
Customers can also look forward to potential holiday raffles, limited-edition glass drops, and future collaborative collections between Sweet Grass Dispensary and Three Trees Glass.
A Shared Vision of Creativity and Connection
This partnership isn’t just about products, it’s about community. Ryley continues to collaborate with other artists across the country, from California to the Carolinas, bringing new creative influences to his studio in Central New York. Sweet Grass Dispensary, meanwhile, continues to lead as a sovereign-nation enterprise dedicated to quality, innovation, and collaboration.
Together, they’re proving that when local creativity meets cannabis culture, the result is something truly special…a spark of artistry you can hold in your hands.
